Nerite is an aquarium logbook. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, what it does not, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Everything you record about your aquariums stays on your device. Tanks, water test results, dosing history, livestock, health observations, equipment, food and reminders are stored in a local database on your phone. We never receive them, and there is no account to create.

An anonymous identifier is created so a purchase can be tied to a device without asking for your name or email. It is not linked to any real-world identity.
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app presents a Google User Messaging Platform consent form the first time it runs, and asks for your choice before any ad is requested. You can change that choice at any time from Settings › Ad privacy options.
Buying Premium removes all advertising, and with it the advertising identifier collection.
Nerite is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Ads are limited to G-rated content.
Because your aquarium data never leaves your device, you control it directly:
We do not sell personal information, and we never have.
Diagnostic and analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months. Purchase receipts are retained for as long as you hold the entitlement plus the period required by tax law. Device notification tokens are deleted when you disable notifications or uninstall.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects what is collected, tell you inside the app before it takes effect.
